Many people are buying computers and going online. And it is fairly easy to get
connected and start surfing. However, there is still a lot to know about your computer and
how it works in order to make the most of your experience. In this section we provide
links to basic computing instruction, guides and tutorials. These links are to pages that
offer their version of helping the novice computer user. Each page presents the
information in a unique way, with a unique voice and various other links to resources
they've found useful. If one of these links isn't appropriate for you, try another. We've
checked the links for their effective delivery of information, but keep in mind, that we
do not endorse any of the sites or the accuracy of their content.

Web browser is an application that allows users to view web sites that others have
created and offered to the world. By making authors conform to the
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Web browsers like Netscape
and Internet Explorer
are able to present the information an author publishes over the Web the
same way every time (in theory, at least).
